Casement & Sash Window Repairs in - Sandwich, Kent

16th June 2026

We recently completed an extensive window repair and restoration project in Sandwich, working on a mixture of traditional casement windows with elegant curved fanlights and original timber sash windows. The property retained many of its period features, so our focus was on preserving the existing joinery wherever possible while carrying out the repairs needed to extend the life of the windows.

A number of areas had suffered from timber decay and rot, requiring careful removal of the damaged sections before carrying out specialist repairs. Where the timber could be saved, we rebuilt and restored the affected areas to match the original profiles. In sections where the deterioration was beyond repair, we manufactured and installed new glazing bars and replacement rails, ensuring they blended seamlessly with the existing windows.

The distinctive curved fanlights required particularly careful attention. These features are often one of the most attractive elements of a period property, so every repair was carried out with the aim of maintaining their original shape and character. Once the work was completed, the windows were structurally sound, weather resistant and fully operational once again.

Projects like this highlight how many original timber windows can be successfully restored rather than replaced. If you're looking for window repairs, timber rot repairs, sash window restoration or bespoke joinery in Sandwich, contact us today to arrange a free site visit and expert advice.

Overhauls, draughtproofing and repairs of casement windows – Minster, Kent

20th April 2026

We recently completed a window overhaul and draught proofing project in Minster, Kent, restoring four original timber windows within a charming period property. The goal was to improve their operation, reduce draughts and help improve the overall comfort and energy efficiency of the home while preserving the existing joinery.

As the work progressed, we discovered a greater amount of timber rot than was visible during the initial inspection, particularly around the lower sections of the frames and vulnerable joint areas. Rather than recommending unnecessary replacements, we carefully removed the decayed timber and carried out specialist resin repairs, rebuilding the affected areas and restoring their structural integrity while retaining as much of the original timber as possible.

Each window then underwent a complete overhaul, including adjustments, servicing and the installation of a comprehensive draught proofing system. Once completed, the windows were operating smoothly, sealing properly against the elements and performing far more efficiently than before.

Projects like this demonstrate how many original timber windows can be successfully restored, even when hidden issues are uncovered during the work. If you're looking for window repairs, timber rot restoration, sash window overhauls or draught proofing in Minster or anywhere across Kent, contact us today for a free site visit and expert advice.

Internal Door Hanging & Reclaimed Front Door in Ramsgate, Kent

13th April 2026

We’ve been working in Ramsgate this week, fitting and finishing a set of internal doors, along with installing reclaimed hardware on a front door to give it a real character feel.Inside the property, we carefully hung all internal doors, making sure each one was perfectly aligned, opening smoothly, and closing cleanly.

We then fitted new beehive style door hardware, including handles, latches, and hinges, finishing everything off with a neat, consistent look throughout the home.At the front, the focus was on reusing some beautiful reclaimed door hardware, bringing a bit of history back to the entrance.

We carefully refitted and adjusted the front door, installing the hardware so it worked flawlessly while keeping that aged, authentic appearance. It’s always nice to combine new joinery with reclaimed features, creating something that feels both fresh and full of character.
